The crew team competed at the Head of the Oklahoma regatta Sept. 29.
On Saturday, two youth novice quads stroked by sophomores Whit Edwards and Drew Wallace finished 1st and 2nd, respectively. Additionally, sophomore Elijah Kraus took 2nd place in the under-17 single, and sophomore Ian McGowan took 3rd soon after. The varsity boat led by McGowan, finished 1st in the men’s youth quad race. A boat stroked by junior Chris Han in the under-17 quad race took 3rd.
A quad led by Eric Yi took 3rd place in the Night Sprints’ Petite Final, and in the Grand Final, the varsity quad also took 3rd.
Their success continued on the final day of the competition – on Sunday morning, McGowan and junior Linyang Lee placed 2nd in the youth doubles’ race. Finally, sophomore Hewes Lance raced his youth novice single to a 1st place finish.
As a whole, the crew team left the regatta with ten podium finishes and three gold medals.
