Christina Soontornvat, a best selling children’s author and Newbery Medal recipient, spoke to grades 4-6 Nov. 8 in the Science Lecture Hall. She shared how growing up in Weatherford, Texas influences the characters and plots of her books. Additionally, she discussed her writing process for her award-winning book about the Thai youth soccer team that got trapped in a cave titled: All 13. The students were captivated by her interactive presentation and expert storytelling. After the presentation, she graciously signed copies of her books for students.
