Freshman Dawson Battie ranked 15th amongst freshmen in ESPN’s first national rankings of the Class of 2027. In addition to playing for the school’s varsity basketball team, Battie is a member of AB Elite, his Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball team, which was created by Anthony Black of the Orlando Magic. AB Elite has received significant media coverage due to the team’s success against Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) competition.
