On Friday, Nov. 1 the Lions defeated the ESD Eagles 28-27 in a game that went down to the wire. Despite going down 21-0 to start the game, the Lions battled back in the second half to take the lead. Huge performances from seniors Lawrence Gardner, Mateu Parker and Henry Estes helped overcome the deficit. Late in the fourth quarter, ESD scored a touchdown and was an extra point away from sending the game to overtime. However, the Eagles decided to go for a two-point conversion in an attempt to avoid overtime and win the game outright. With the game on the line, the Lion’s defensive line tackled ESD’s quarterback, sealing the victory for the home team. With two two passing touchdowns, a rushing touchdown, and even a receiving touchdown, Gardner had a hand in all of the teams points. This was the teams final game of the season, finishing with a record of 6-4.
