The basketball team ended 2024 on top, winning the 84th Annual Dallas ISD Holiday Hoops Tournament with a 54-50 overtime victory over Panther Creek Dec. 28. Opening with a 73-58 statement victory vs Skyline set the tone for the rest of the tournament, as the Lions went on to win all five of their games. Although Bishop Lynch and Cedar Hill beat the team earlier this season, tournament MVP senior Luke Laczkowski didn’t let history repeat itself, leading the Lions to victory. Sophomore Dawson Battie and junior Pranav Danda also received all-tournament honors for their outstanding contributions during the championship run. The team will be back in action Jan. 10, vs DASCHE, serving as their final game before SPC counter season begins.
