The Lion's Basketball team begins SPC play in the new Zierk Athletic Center
Thursday, Feb. 13 – 10:30 p.m.
On Thursday, Feb. 13, the Varsity Basketball, Soccer, and Swimming teams began the three day winter SPC championships, each striving to bring home a championship to the school. The Lion’s Swim Team had a strong day at the preliminary round and will fight for a championship tomorrow between noon and 4 p.m. at the Keller ISD Natatorium.
The Lion’s soccer team faced a nail-biter of a game, with regular time finishing in a 0 to 0 tie and penalty kicks starting. Thanks to clutch penalty kicks from junior Kazim Hussain and seniors Eduardo Mousinho, Aydin Sumer, Alden Reagins, and a massive save from senior Adithya Munshi, the Lions won the penalty shootout 4 to 3 and advanced to the semifinals where they will face Greenhill at Castleberry High School at noon.
The Lion’s basketball team had a commanding game, leading the whole time against Kincaid. While they had a bit of a slow start and entered the half only up 7, they had a strong final two quarters to drive their lead up to 20. They face Greenhill tomorrow at Trinity Valley School at 4 p.m.
