On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will sweep over Dallas, and the administration is planning a treat for everyone to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime spectacle. Beginning at 1 p.m., students and faculty will line up along the Quad while teachers distribute solar-viewing safety glasses. By 1:25 p.m., totality will occur, and because the moon completely covers the sun, it is safe to view the sun with the naked eye. Students will view this for most of fourth period, and afterward, class is scheduled to resume as normal.
Remember to stay safe while viewing the eclipse next month. Keep your solar viewing glasses on at all times before and after totality.
