Steven Holley talks about his experience in the military at the Armed Forces Club.

On Thursday, Nov. 9, the Armed Forces Club had Stephen Holley, former Navy SEAL and Co-Founder of the ‘Carry the Load’ non-profit organization, present to Marksmen about his time in the Navy. Holley grew up in East Dallas and later attended the United States Naval Academy, where he also played football. From there, he endured basic underwater training (B.U.D.) in San Diego until his graduation in May 2001. After the tragedy of 9/11, Holley served from 2002–2007 in SEAL Team 5 for four deployments, two in Southeast Asia and the Philippines and two in Iraq. In 2011, Holley established a non-profit to help veterans because of ‘a lack of purpose’ caused by his deployments finishing.
