Around 1:40 p.m. today, an emergency alert was broadcasted to all buildings on campus, alerting all people at the school to stay inside the buildings due to an external threat. Students and teachers huddled in classrooms, locked doors and turned off the lights. At 2:20 p.m., the all-clear notice was sounded, allowing students to return to normal academic activities. The Dallas Police Department (DPD) quickly controlled the situation and subdued the threat.
