St. Mark’s and Hockaday swim teams held a joint meet for Senior Night at the Levering Pool on Thursday, Jan. 23. The programs celebrated eleven seniors before competing against Cistercian, Greenhill, Alquin, and Parish in a very competitive meet featuring several top SPC teams. The Lions started the night by winning the 200-meter freestyle relay, followed by Ethan Wang and Miller Martin finishing first and second, respectively, in the 100-meter freestyle. Ilan Gunawardena finished the night by swimming a personal best of 21.94 seconds to win the 50-meter freestyle. Next week, the Lions will travel to Austin to compete against St. Stephen’s for the final meet before hosting the SPC championship in February.
